As you may know, my sister-in-law (Hayley) and I work together. Her desk is about 5 feet outside of my office. Working alongside her has been a riot. We laugh a lot and we also help each other out when it comes to crunch time.
While I was working on a project yesterday, we had a conversation on women wearing the pants in a relationship, in a marriage, and even in the workplace. It was quite interesting.
We all know that there are women who tend to make the final decisions in a marriage relationship. There are women who strongly influence their husbands to sway to their side. There are women that tend to be more dominant then men. Is that right? Is that how it is suppose to be?
I have my own views on this. What are your thoughts about women wearing the pants? Is it Biblical?
It's very biblical. But I don't think it's a pattern we should follow. Say, Ahab and Jezabel?

I believe that if a man is a biblical leader, laying down his life for oneness with his wife, then it's easier for a wife to let him "wear the pants" in the family. If it's true biblical leadership then there will be a partnership. Jesus doesn't force us to follow Him. But we do out of trust and faith that He has our best interest at heart. The bible orders men to love our wives like Christ loves the church so he is our model.
Now in the workplace I think it's just fine for a woman to "wear the pants". There are women leaders in the bible, at the moment I can only think of Ruth and there was a female judge, but the point is women CAN lead. This is getting too long so here's my last thought; In My Big Fat Greek Wedding the mother tells the daughter, "Yes the father is the head of the house, but the mother is the NECK. And she can turn the head any way she wants." If a man really loves his wife most the time I think that she'll get her way as long as it's not harmful to the family.

Hi , If all things in the marriage work as God has inteded than the husband and wife work together as one unit. Scripture clearly satates that the husband will leave to father and mother and cleave unto his wife and these two shall become one.
Yes the man should be the head, but does that mean he shoukd lord it over his wife. God Forbid!!!!!!!!!!!
The marriage is beautiful when it is done to glorify the Lord. the Biblle calls for wives to submit themselves unto their husbands ,but it also says husband love your wives as Christ loves the church. When i do get married I pray for this type of marriage in my life one that will glorify our savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
In His service,paul
