Two Men in a Coffee Shop
Over the past two weeks, I had two distinct conversations in two different coffee shops that have been etched in my mind.
In downtown Royal Oak, one man was thrilled to show me the brand new Bible and devotional book that he purchased. The excitement in his face was memorable. Now, here is the deal!
This man teaches in holistic centers and sometimes in unity churches. He teaches Theophostic Ministry. But, it is evident that God is after this individual. This man attends the Monday night coffee shop group faithfully. He is starting to grasp what the Bible has to say and how it contradicts what he is teaching.
I love seeing God at work! Keep it coming Holy Spirit!
In Troy, the other man that I have had several spiritual conversations with just informed me that he stopped attending church and he is no longer reading the Word of God. My heart broke for this man! Ahhh! I hate seeing the devil, the world, and the flesh at work!
We as the Body of Christ need to continue to get our boxing gloves on and fight for these individuals in prayer.
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask -we know that we have what we asked of him." 1 John 5:14-15
As for the second man who has presently stopped church and ingesting the Word. God's Word never returns void. It pierces through to the very marrow where Blood is manufactured (Christs life is in the blood) and the evil one cannot steal that away. Lord make active in that man what he has already heard and that has already given him Life. Lord strengthen Him and increase the faith that you have given him. Lord, Jesus put a hedge of protection surrounding him and strengthen him in the brotherhood, in Jesus' Name I pray. I think this is why we should be careful not to behave in a way that other's deem as sin, because our weaker brothers cannot understand our depths and misconstrue our actions and motives and it causes them to sin. Like not going to church. If he know you don't go; it gives him permission to not go.
